What is GO fee?
It is annual Gymnastics Ontario membership registration fee. It is valid from Jul 1st to Jun 30th of every year in any member club in Ontario.
I was charged GO fee last session (s), why do I have to pay it again?
The validity of GO expires after Jun 30th of every season and has to be renewed upon registering for any session that starts after Jul 1st.
Do you offer trial classes?
No, we don't, however you are welcome to visit us and view a class. Please use entrance 6 and head upstairs.
What should children wear for classes?
For girls, a one-piece dance/gymnastics suit would be perfect, however not required. Anything “fitness” works, both for girls and boys. Please make sure long lair is pulled back and away from eyes.
We do not allow: socks, skirts, tutu's, watches, jewelry and chewing gum.
My child is almost a minimum required age, can we get in to the desired class?
No, we don't make exceptions to keep all groups within appropriate age range. We offer a variety of age groups to accommodate all children: 18m – 2.5 yo, 2.5 yo to 4 yo, 4 yo to 5 yo, 5.5 yo to 7 yo and 8 yo +
Are you open on long weekend Saturdays/Mondays?
We are only closed on: Family Day: Monday, Victoria Day: Monday, Thanksgiving Day: Monday. We are open on all other days.
When does the registration open?
Fall Session registration opens: 2nd Monday of Jul
Winter Session registration opens: 2nd Mon of Nov
Spring Session registration opens: 2nd Mon of Feb
Summer Session registration opens: 1st Mon of May
Summer Camps registration opens: 2nd Mon of Apr
Can I switch to a different day/time?
As long as the spaces allow – absolutely!
Do you offer make up classes?
There are no make up/refunds/credits for missed classes or classes cancelled due to inclement weather or extraordinary circumstances beyond the control of Northern Stars Gymnastics. Also, we do not prorate fees for joining classes later into the session, as registration opens well ahead of time and all the coaches are scheduled for all the weeks of classes.
Are you open on Snow/bad weather days?
We rarely cancel class due to weather. If, however, we decide it is safer to stay closed, you will be notified by email and post the announcement on our homepage and FB/IG.
I am registered for the upcoming session, why isn't the class showing in my account?
No worries, it is the system's default setting (that we cannot change) that only show current classes, not the "future" ones. On the 1st day of that session your class will be visible in your account. As long as you received your enrollment conformation (please check your junk mail, as that email has a lot of useful information) you are all set!
We are interested in Competitive/Pre-Competitive program, what is the process?
We evaluate children through out the year. There is a testing week at the end of Fall, Winter and Spring sessions. If your child tests well, we recommend a more advanced class/program for the following session. Also, we have competitive trials during Summer session, where we take a closer look at athletes.
